Playing with ecto and blogjet today.

I have to say, I’m find blogjet so much better. I’m still not sure I want to *pay* for a client.

PS, C&C3 is much better than expected. The FMV are so nice, I kinda hope it becomes a trend again.

PPS, Livejournal has an April Fools Post this year, albeit very early :)

So I figured out why my “leeching” script doesn’t work anymore. They disabled authentication. So I spent a couple hours today cleaning it up and making it more flexible. It also should work for any date as long as its in the system, no longer assuming files are in certain paths.. It actually uses the search functionality built into their archive system to grab it.

I’m hoping this means it’ll run automaticly again. I can’t say I’ve been that motivated to look into it really anyways, so if it doesn’t, it’ll probably be another few months till I look at it again.

Side note though, really nice to see Dr Who at it again!

Nothing is better to me than screwing up telemarketers.

Today’s guy was all friendly and loose.

“We do 1010 numbers for long distance”
“Oh, we don’t make long distance calls”
“oh.. none at all?”
“nope”
“How about traveling?”
“hrm, nope”
“okay then…..*searching* I guess i can’t help you with
your long distance needs”
“okay, sorry, bye.”

So far this weekend I got to try two really cool demos, and one really pathetic demo.

TMNT: The Movie game really sucks, you can easily tell its the same engine as hulk, and spiderman and such. Doesn’t even feel like ninja turtles except you can do some combo moves(?). I think at least, I had trouble getting anything other than the super jump to work.

Supreme Commander was pretty cool. The first level took me 1.5 hours on easy to complete, and i was shocked to see there was another level to be played after that. I guess the 1.5 gig download had alot of stuff on it :) Unfortunately, during the last phase of the first level, I had approx 40 guys, plus whatever the computer had fighting, and it was seriously starting to lag my machine, so I doubt i’ll be picking up this game any time soon.

Command & Conquer 3 was by far the most fun, and the full motion video briefings were finally cool, except for the one time your “helper” told you to right click on something, otherwise it felt really cool (I know I already said that, but it did). Plus they got a few big name actors to go along with the ones they had in the previous games. Jennifer Morrison From House, Grace Park from Battle Star Galactica, and Billy Dee Williams from starwars. At least those are the big names I saw in the demo.

I am so pre-ordering C&C when i get a chance this week.

This weekend Nigel loaned me this short book called All my friends are superheroes. So far its been pretty awesome, but there’s just one superhero description I have to share.

The Dancer

The Dancer has direct communication with God, much like a personal phone line. The telephone she uses is her body and she dials by dancing. As such, her dancing is a very, very sensual thing.

In the past, whenever she went out dancing, she got hit on and hit on and hit on. She didn’t like this at all. She hated it. It wasn’t what she was trying to do. She just wanter to talk to God. She almost gave up dancing altogether. Then she got an idea.

Now, just before she goes out dancing, the Dancer straddles a photocopier and makes copies of her vagina. When guys come up and hit on her, she justs hands them a copy.
