So about a week ago now my camera’s LCD window cracked/broke. I honestly am not sure how it happened, but i’m fairly certain, due to not having any case or other protection, its my fault.

Now that being said, the camera is barely a month old now. I got it from mom for Christmas, she paid extra for the futureshop warranty. So as its still less than a year, one would suspect the double warentee would make it easier to get things fixed. BUT NO!!!

Yea, I totally suck at forcing thier hand, but all they were doing was telling me how it was physical damage and they won’t fix it. Finally I got him to tell me I could probably get the screen fixed but it would cost $200. And that if they replaced it, everyone would just drop their camera to get another one.

I’ve now realized that I should focus on seeing if I can get them to at least help pay for a repair, i don’t need a new one, I just want my screen working again. I was prepared to shell out good bucks to pick up a good case.

It doesn’t make it any easier to know I’m in the wrong this time, but I just want it fixed, I miss having the small camera already (although I *can* use it, its jsut hard to line up pictures properly, plus i have no idea if its zoomed or not).

I can’t belive I had to install spam protection, so many spammers talking about hurricane katrina, or google.

Just as a side note, MTLJPost is ready for the next release, I just havn’t gotten around to packing it up, with this job, thinking about school, applying for other jobs, and my other projects, I have been quite busy. I hope to get it out there for this long weekend though.

The starting of Final Cut reminds me ALOT of the book Speaker For the Dead.

The movie itself is a very interesting, deals with trying to make videos of people’s memories for a “rememory”, just like a “speaker” did in the book.

I’m not a very big fan of thriller type movies, infact i’ve left (okay, well i’ve never left a theater, but i have left rooms) / turned off a few. But this one seems really interesting. I guess I really do like just about everything Robin Williams.

Yea, so far so good.. lets hope it turns out good.

Okay, it turned out really good, the ended was so left open-ended, not in a to be continue way, but more that you can’t tell what would happen right after the final scene, its left up to your imagination. Actually, the entire thing is that way, things are implied, but not explicitly shown.

I don’t know how I’d feel if my life was entirely recorded and I had no say in it. I guess it would be different if everyone did it, but in this movie, you had to be well off to afford an implant that recorded your life, so, as they said, it was about 1 in 20, and its not only thier life being recorded, but it was everyone else’s around them.

Yea, as much as I don’t care about my own personal secrets, I wouldn’t want things I’m keeping secret for other people getting out.

Been actually running linux at home now that I finally have a tv and no longer need the incoming tv signal (aka TV Tuner) that the ATI Radieon 9600 AIW provided me to play xbox. (Yes, I was actually playing xbox on the computer that way)
Anyways, being on linux now, I decided to go back to trying to use evolution (like I used back at the office), only to find out that It barely worked in the version of Ubuntu Linux that I had downloaded.
Then again, its very likely the setup I have on my own mail server, but it worked on the version of evolution that I had at work without problems, although now I get an ssl warning and its very slow to connect (I have poor bandwidth at home).
Okay, it seems pretty much to be the way this linux distro is working. Thunderbird is crashing when I try to use the SSL connection (forgot I hadn’t enabled it when I started writing this).
Even with that slight flaw, if you are just doing email, it seems Mozilla Thunderbird actually works cleaner for email than evolution.

Apparently during the move to ev1servers, alot of things broke.

I’ve fixed user registration, eventually i need to add trackback and anonymous commenting, but due to poor original design on my part (mostly I just wasn’t thinking i’d want them), its not going to happen any time soon.

I’ve also added google ads, yes they are tacky, although I don’t see them as that intrusive.

I’m actually working on a few projects, including my new comics system, which I would really like some feed back on by some people, I think i could setup a community building system that would work better than keenspace, and give something back cool to the community.

I also have a few ideas in the work for cool projects (mostly sadly, atm, ripoff as other sites). I like doing the work, but i’m not sure if anyone will ever use them.

Not so much as dead, as more like, busy.

I really have to get back to working on this site one of these days, as well as working on the website and my MTLJPost script and well, all kinds of other little projects i’ve ben pushing off.

I really like working, but I have to get back into the whole seperating work time and home time and get some fun projects done.

Does editing work?
HAHAH, so it does! wh00t, halkpost 0.2 livesssss!
now to fix up subversion so i can start commiting again.

I think things will get done more as i move back into linux at home (probably run Unbuntu as its like debian, but fits together nicer). Been running Unbunto in a vm sandbox at home for a while now, and i’ve liked what I’ve seen.
But first, I have to make it through the christmas season long enough to replace the dead hd (and its dying replacement).
