(Yes Yes, transcribed directly from my lj, so its not really that good, but its been 2 days now, and i havn’t felt like writing something better yet)

I guess now, i finally feel like the con is over. Even though i’m still wearing my AE2003 t-shirt, and my pass is still sitting on my desk, staring back at me, telling me i should go back for another day.

I really don’t know what to say, it was my first con experience, and i have to say, i absolutly loved it.
Probably moreso hanging out with the ubc people more than being at the con, but I still thoughally enjoyed the con…

After going to the Stargate SG-1 Panel, i so wished i went to more, but i had no idea what i wanted to see, still don’t.. He was an awsomly fun speaker.. and i asked about the cartoon, and found out that most of them had absolutly nothing todo with it.. which was awsome, i hate the new cartoon. And that there will be a spinoff series.. hopefully it will be good. I just wish I actually got channels that aired any of the shows (other than the cartoon :P)

I loved the auction at the end, I’m sure i was blushing alot when i was doing the bidding on robotech, i could feel my face get really hot, moreso than just the temperature in the room… eeep :)

But the auction was fun, loved all the VA’s.. well most of them, they made it fun… I was hoping for alot more for the closing ceramony though.. Guess it wasn’t really planned out.. Actually i was wishing for at least something.

Anyways, gonna post some stuff on halkeye.net as well as post links to the 50-75 pictures (As i got tired of trying to make the picture pages look like they fit with the rest of the website) I took during the weekend.. But as a sneak preview, some of my favorite

I just doubled my respect for gentoo tonight.

Since my fan is broken, i’ve been spending alot more time in the guest room where my laptop currently is, mainly due to the fact that its IS alot cooler than my room (without the fan, its 0 air flow) and ’cause the tv is here, which allows me to vedge out alot easier. Anyways, back to the point, since I’m in here alot more, and my laptop is setup here, I’ve been spending more time using gentoo (which from the computers page, you’d know runs gentoo), i’ve decided todo an update, it must have been months since I’ve done one.

While updating my use flags, I noticed there was one for nwn.. at first it was confusing, then I realized, it was for Never Winter Nights… Not only does it have the dedicated server as an ebuild, but it also has the client, and a hack to get the data files, which rocks.

While this computer is barely able to run the client, well at least when i first tried the windows client on here, it would rock as a simple InHouse-NWN dedicated server, with the possibility of opening the router up to allow incoming connections to those ports. (Side Note:Need to finish setting it up as a better firewall too)

That would be soo cool, i don’t know of anyone who would want to, or could come over to play on the server, but it would still be more fun than anything else.

Now only if they had a good movable type client for linux I’d be all set.

We Get to play another game of good news bad news tonight.

Bad News
On one of the hottest days as of lately, my fan dies, so now my room is completely air circulation proof :( I’ll have to bug mom to get me a new fan, or goto dads more, or even move there.

Awesomely good news
I got asked today if i knew any programmers who were wanting to get involved in a project using a commercial engine… So I’m now going to probably be working on a game that uses the bioware engine (I believe the neverwinter nights one), which is cool, i just gotta find some other interested people, i think I’m going to ask Jordan and Richard, the only real issue is that since bioware doesn’t want it leaving the office, we have to work there instead.

So i got another game to work on, this one, and the program with userinfokanis, so I’ll be quite busy for a while.. YAY!
i like being busy, makes me less depressed, but i still need to become more social.

Side Note: stupid slashdot people

Screenshot of Mozilla Thunderbird

Man, I’m finding more and more I like to email people instead of IM people. Not to mention the fact that more often I find people are not online, or away or whatever. But i like handling emails, I guess thats why I liked livejournal so much in the past, there was a lot of replying to things… heh.. Much easier to converse In my opinion anyways.

Specially since I’ve been using Mozilla Thunderbird, which I so enjoy more than I ever did with outlook, which makes it a lot easier when i move back and forth between Windows and Linux, as well as when i have to get rid of all my copies of Office and such, but that isn’t until I graduate, or drop out (probably the drop out one :( )

Man I love this theme though, the default is a tad broke due to me getting the nightly builds and all, but this one interfaces with everything awesomely and looks cool.

My only currently complaint with Thunderbird is the fact that the addressbook sometimes crashes, i assume its not that high of a priority, but its something they eventually need to deal with.

After being out of playing games for so long, I’ve been dying to play Knights of the Old Republic after I’ve seen some of the commercials. Unfortunately i just learned that it won’t be coming out for the PC until October, what a rip off.

I’m such a sucker when it comes to Star Wars, I mean i own a good chunk of the games (there are a few games related to the first movie that i don’t own, but whatever). I have Dark Forces, which sucked, Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight, which rocked, and then Jedi Knight 2 (is that Dark Forces 3?), which was also an awsome game. And lastly, we can’t forget Jedi Outcast, which was extremely fun, Unfortunately I don’t think I’ve finished any of them, except maybe Jedi Knight 1. I suck when it comes to following through with games.

Even back when I was creating and playing on muds, They were almost all Star Wars based, I just loved the universe created there. Speaking of which, I’ve created a project for Unknown Regions at my new project server database thingie.

Sadly, since its taken so long to come back to this entry, I’ve sorta forgotten what my point was… Guess nothing other than I’m a sucker for Star Wars games, since I love bioware games, i can’t wait till it comes out. Man do i want it.. I’m even considering taking a stab at Star Wars galaxies, except I am so not into those games.

I’ve had the chance to see K-Pax about a week ago. I really do not know what the problem everyone else seems to have with that movie. I really enjoyed it. The entire movie left me guessing to the fact of whether or not the Prot was really from K-Pax.
I definitely Highly Recommend it to anyone at all interested in drama and thought provoking movies.

Next up was today’s Jungle Book 2 , unfortunately it was a downloaded cam version, i would have preferred to get a DVD, but i found it on my hd from a while ago, so alls good. I am not sure if I liked it better than the previous one, I nearly cried at the end, but I think I liked the first one better. But since i can’t really remember it, heh, yea. It was good, I just don’t think it was as good as some of Disney’s other movies. I really want to see Spirited Away and Treasure Planet at some point, I like happy movies.

It seems I’m All up to date software wise, I guess that wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought it would be.

Okay, I take that back, it was a bit harder than I thought.. turns out I never actually updated MT. Now I’m up to date.

Watched some of the new episodes about half a week ago. What the hell happened? He’s in some dot com company job. Mimi looks worse than ever, and about 60 years old.. and Kate is gone..

She was the best character.

Someone needs to explain it to me.. But with my luck, I’m the only one who watches it.

Lets not even start to talk about these new stream of commercials (rant I wanted to talk about last post). We have sex aid ads, church, and satellite thefts.

The Church Commercials are getting really weird, forceful almost, talking about death, and stuff like that, its getting really intrusive.

Then we have the satellite thieved commercials.. About the kid who stole a candy bar from the video store, his dads asks him where he learned how todo it, ’cause he didn’t learn it from him.. The kid response with “But dad, you steal satellite signals”..
Well, not only has it played so many times, its getting really really really really stupid.. more so than it started as, but it has really sad dialog, almost as bad as some of the rogers/shaw commercials.. Its just… Ugh… I really can’t explain it anymore. I can’t see ANY kid ever stealing because their parent (or other) is stealing satellite signals..

And lastly we have the ever ackward KY jelly commercials… er I mean Personal Lubricant… I mean, if I didn’t know what KY was, it might not be so bad.. but why do they constantly have to air it during prime time? If I were to watch TV with my family, then it would be extremely ackward to come on TV.

And that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

It seems there is a new version of Moveable Type out. And I know there was a new version of gallery out, so i really have to start updating my software over the next few days.

I had a rant, but i’ve gotten so tired I really forgot what it was.

Been doing alot of changes to my site, sidebar has moved, colors have changed. Started to work on a about me. Its quite lame now, and I don’t think anyone would ever look at it.

I need some feedback though, going to bug people after work tommorow. I really would hope someday I can make something as good looking as Mike’s Slurrey Dot com. It really doesn’t have any of the fad things like opening in tiny javascript windows, 90% graphics, all these newfangled things.. Just really looks nice.

I also learned that none of my icons work in IE.. I knew transparent PNGS do not work in IE, but i didn’t expect them to be that bad, i thought they would be more like the computer icon, which does seem to sorta work in IE.
