Ever since playing with alot of javascript and ajax for some of the new job stuff, I have been itching to rebuild yaoirpg, I’m sure its plenty full of holes and bugs, and you have to keep manually resetting everything..

I doubt it’ll ever be battle mines, or legend of the green dragon, but it’ll be fun to play with more AJAX and such.

I was about to complain about it being a trial version… but man, it looks cool..

I’ve abandoned this site for so long its not even funny. I have been poking at it, but lots of behind the scenes things. I don’t think I even have enough battery to really put a good update it..

Things I’ve been working on:

  • http://www.kodekoan.com – Kode Koan (Mini company thingie)
  • http://www.mythtv.org – mythtv – Getting quite close too.. almost ready to re subscribe to cable.. and get some hard drives to store dvds on (so i don’t have to swap so much :D lazyness++). Just need to play with the hauppage IR blaster some more.
  • Oblivion++
  • Indexing all my dvds, books and such so i can keep track of things when i loan them out
  • Starting a new job at AIRG

Yea, with ecto I’m going to try to remember to update more. Maybe even get the lj syncing working again.

Man the first time i tried drupal, i was pretty much in love.. I was looking for software for Hi Sci Fi’s podcast, since loudblog has really not paid off well, infact i think it made them have alot less visiters.

Anyways, after playing with it, I loved it so much more than joomla, which I ended up using for SFU’s ARC Club.

So I ended up looking into how to convert MT to drupal… Lacking in that department.. people tend to convert once, and not update again.. so the last conversion script was from like 2.x and drupal 4.5. So I ended up having to re-write the conversation script (which is now on thier site).

Anyways, weeks later, i’ve now converted kodekoan.com and halkeye.net to use drupal. I’m hoping this means i’m going to revive the site again.

I still have to fix up the image posting routines… so I can start putting images in stories.

Sin Episode 1 was so awesome. I’m pretty sure i’m one of the very few people who’s played the original.

I’m surprised that the game works so well in episode format.. Its weird, being only a couple hours long per episode, but its highly action packed, etc..

got so many pictures up in the New Gallery.

note to self, if you are having trouble with nuvexport / mythtv, rememember to use the latest svn copy. Its fixed so much more than the 0.3 tarball.

Soon I might actually be ordering cable again, whoot

Subject: A wonderful Birthday Gift

Dear Frank,

For my birthday, my long-time friends presented me with the Postsecret book. My friend had written a message in the front of the book telling me her secret was on page 278. I flipped through the book thinking it was a secret she related to and was surprised to find that page 278 was created by her. She had pasted in photos of us and written the words ” this is the making of a lasting friendship” I was moved to tears. This was the most heartfelt, wonderful birthday gift I have ever received.

Switched my hosting to lighttpd due to the smaller memory footprint and such.

It seems ALOT faster for at least http://www.sfuarc.com than apache. And my server load doesn’t get as high.. I’m prettty sure it has todo with BML / Fotobuilder.. Its just not designed for a server like mine.

If anyone notices any problems with my site(s) now, if they could let me know that’ll be awesome..

Eventually I’ll be getting my own beefy dedicated server, but for now i’ll stick with what i have :)

Went to futureshop (yea, i know, first mistake) to grab a new mouse (’cause mine suddenly started to die today) and Children of Dune to complete our dune night next week.

Well, I did find a decent mouse, not the one or kind I wanted, but a good enough one, thier stock was half missing. But when i went looking for the dvd, not only could I find nobody to help me because like half of them were standing in front of a tv watching some game (suspect olympics, didn’t check), and the one i eventually found was pretty rude.

me: Do you have children of dune?
her: I’m not really sure
me: *points at the screen* says you do
her: Its often wrong
her: *as she checks her computer* its more often than wrong

her: Its not even listed at all
me: .. Does that mean its not carried at all? nowhere?
her: its not here and not really at other stores

Okay, not quite rude, but not very helpful.

Next went up to HMV, checked his computer, saw one, looked around, looked some more, checked places, checked his computer again, asked if i wanted him to phone other stores, etc.. Turns out even thier other store (downstairs) couldn’t find the one they had in thier computer either, but they at least tried.

Ended up grabbing the last 2 boxes of futurama. So its not all bad.
